Gambling

When I was Young and was going to college, I went to a fun Fair in Karachi. In the fair I see a game named Luck Seven. In the game you roll 2 dices. There were three options to choose from

1) below seven i.e. 2,3,4,5,6

2) above seven i.e. 8,9,10,11,12

3) Lucky Seven i.e. 7

In the game you select an option and roll the 2 dice. If you have selected below seven and the total of 2 dice is a digit below seven than you win the game and get double the bet amount. If you have selected Above seven and the total of 2 dice is a digit above seven than you win the game and get double the bet amount. If you select Luck Seven and you roll the dices and the total of two dices is Seven than you win triple the bet amount. If the total is different from your selected option you do not get your bet amount back.

So, I put a bet of 2 rupees on below seven hoping to win 2 rupees, but I lost.

Then I put a bet of 4 rupees on below seven hoping to win back my lost 2 rupees and winning 2 rupees, but I lost second time.

Then I put a bet of 8 rupees on below seven hoping to win back my lost 6 rupees and winning 2 rupees, but I lost third time.

Then I put a bet of 16 rupees on below seven hoping to win back my lost 14 rupees and winning 2 rupees, but I lost fourth time.

Then I put a bet of 32 rupees on below seven hoping to win back my lost 30 rupees and winning 2 rupees, but I lost fifth time.

Then I put a bet of 64 rupees on below seven hoping to win back my lost 62 rupees and winning 2 rupees, but I lost sixth time.

At this point I stopped after losing 126 rupees only trying to win 2 rupees.

After that experience I understood gambling.

I think even though I lost 126 rupees, but it taught me a lot.

disclaimer: I am not saying gambling is good or bad, I am just sharing my experience.
