Sandwiches

 Sandwiches

Today I went to a friend’s father's funeral. After the service snacks and tea were served. Stew(Haleem), Sandwiches, Cakes, and Pastries were in the snacks. I took a bowl of Stew(Haleem) served in disposable small containers in a single-person serving. I liked the Stew(Haleem) and thought that when I was leaving I would take one with me. While I was having snacks by chance I saw a person sneakily putting a sandwich in his pocket, like he doesn’t want others to see that he put a sandwich in his pocket.

In my opinion, if you are at a gathering and you want to take something with you then you should ask the host whether you can take something home, almost everyone would say yes. If you don’t want to ask the host for any reason you should take it without hiding from other guests or hosts. Taking it sneakily is not good for you. When you do this you think you are doing something wrong and you feel guilty. Feeling guilty is not good for yourself, because if you ask the host or take it openly then you do not feel guilty.

Lastly, I did not take Stew(Haleem) home after seeing that guy putting a sandwich in his pocket sneakily because I thought the guest would think I was doing the same thing as him. I didn’t want to ask the host because he was mourning the loss of his father and in that grief, I didn’t want to bother him for a bowl of Stew(Haleem).

(the following paragraph is added later on)

In life, there is no right or wrong. Even if you kill someone or lie or steal you have not done anything wrong, you must have your reasons for your actions. So don’t feel guilty for your actions, instead own your actions. You should not be sorry for any action you have taken. Others might find you guilty for your actions but you should stand by yourself and never feel guilty for your actions.
