The definition of True Love(ishq) is right but it has one thing missing, that when true love(ishq) happens you lose your free will(sanity). The people in true love(ishq) act insanely, and it is because they had lost their free will. They don’t have control of their actions, true love(ishq) drives their actions. What makes humans, human is their free will. Analyze action of people who fell in true love(ishq) and you will understand it. True love(ishq) is perfect romantic love between people but their actions are not driven by themselves they are driven by True Love(ishq).

In Arabic there is a single word for True Love i.e. ISHQ. عِشْق (ʿishq) is a Classical Arabic verbal noun meaning passionate, excessive, all-consuming love—traditionally understood as love that has gone beyond the ordinary level of ḥubb (love).

Love and True love(ishq) are two different Phenomenon. You love with your free will. True love(ishq) will find you, and when it finds you it will take away your free will. It will control your actions your actions are not your own. With Love you get a lover, where as with True Love(ishq) you get soulmate. People believe True love(ishq) is the perfect love and so it is better than love, so a lover is better than soulmate.

True Love(ishq) finds you, you cannot find True Love. You cannot find true love(ishq) with effort. No matter how much effort you put in you cannot find True Love. If true love had to happen to you it will happen to you irrespective of weather you are looking for it or not. When True Love(ishq) happens to you, you have to obey it even if you want to do something else. People who put effort in finding true love(ishq) are wasting their time and effort. What people should look for is Love not True Love(ishq).

While only 32% relationships last i.e. 52% married and 27% unmarried relationships. If 80% people believe that they are with their soulmate and only 32% last that means there is a huge difference between expectation and reality.

People a looking for True Love and soulmate, while ignoring the love and lover next to them. Even they expect their love to be soulmate, but in-fact he/she is lover not soulmate. They want their lover to act like soulmate. If they understand the difference and don’t expect their lover to act like a soulmate the difference in expectation and reality will be lower. Relationships would last longer.

We are being told half truth that True Love(ishq) is the perfect love, but with True Love(ishq) you let go your free will, no one talks about. It is because people don’t understand the difference.

Tru Love(ishq) finds you, you cannot find True Love. You cannot find true love(ishq) with effort. How much effort you put in you cannot find True Love, if true love had to happen to you it will happen to you irrespective of weather you are looking for it or not. When True Love(ishq) happens to you, you have to obey it even if you want to do something else.

In my opinion Love is trillion times better than True love(ishq) because in love your actions are your, where as in True Love(ishq) your actions are not yours, they are driven by True Love(ishq).  A lover is trillion times far better than a soulmate.
